Product feature
  1. Sole grip
The sole design is the product of a lengthy research process conducted in our laboratories, combined with a special rubber formulation to optimise grip and traction. As needs are not the same, we systematically seek the best trade-off for progressing in both loose terrain and dry terrain.
  2. 3 levels of waterproofing
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing, i.e. 2000 flexes (about 2 hours of walking), 4000 flexes (about 4 hours of walking) and 8000 flexes (about 8 hours of walking). The MH120 MID children's boot is waterproof for 4000 flexes.
  3. Making waterproofing last longer
A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. Using waterproof gaiters or mini gaiters is therefore recommended to keep your feet dry for longer by protecting the top part of your shoes and prevent water from getting in as well as pebbles, sand, etc. Use of a re-waterproofing spray is recommended several times per year. This will help your shoes recover their original water repellent qualities and combat outer stains.
  4. Buying Tips
Allow children to try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying shoes on. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in. On the internet, you can print the pedometer and check your child’s foot length.
  5. Which size should I select
For hiking, do not hesitate to buy one size larger than the usual size to guarantee excellent comfort on the descent and to avoid toes rubbing at the tip of the shoe. Tip: keep your toenails short, and before going downhill at any time, check that your laces are tight enough to stop your feet slipping down towards the front of the shoes.
  6. Field test
All our shoes undergo comfort and use tests carried out by users who are representative of our target market, in conditions identical to those found in typical use. Our Field Test Missions team the product manager up with people who are unaffiliated with Quechua, to test, improve and validate our products.
  7. Lab tests
Further laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: attachment of eyelets and webbing, assembly, toxicology, UV resistance, sole and upper component abrasion, accelerated ageing.
