Recommendation:

A loose wheel axle can damage the bearings and cups
By anticipating tightening up wheel components it helps to protect the wheel.
If the wheel hub adjustment is not done regularly, there is a risk of the axle breaking and of destabilising the wheel. In this happens, the complete wheel will have to be changed.
