The Kask Dogma Hunter is the standard-peak Dogma in an understated, fully matt finish. Shell and frame are covered in the same fabric, without chrome or shine. You choose black or navy and a shell size; the liner in your head circumference is included free. Kask intends the Dogma for dressage and show jumping.
About this riding helmet
What the Hunter line is. At Kask the Dogma comes in three lines: Chrome, Pure Shine and Hunter. The first two have a chrome frame around the shell. The Hunter does not: here shell and frame continue in one matt fabric, which Kask calls Prestige fabric and describes as hard-wearing. It is not leather or suede. Nor is Hunter a colour; the line comes in black and navy, with peak, grille and chin strap tone-on-tone each time.
Dogma versus Star Lady. Kask regards the Star Lady as a variant of the Dogma. They share the same construction, but the Dogma has a regular peak and the Star Lady a wide one. If you want the Hunter look with a wider peak, the Kask Star Lady Hunter is the sister model. If you prefer a regular peak, stay with the Dogma.
How the helmet is built. The outer shell is ABS, under the fabric covering. Inside is expanded polystyrene in three densities. Built into it are two honeycomb ventilation grilles, which according to Kask provide a constant airflow. The liner is 100% merino wool; you unclip it (three pins) and wash it. The chin strap is faux leather. According to Kask the Dogma weighs 550 g, with no size stated. Kask designs and makes the helmet in Italy. On the Dogma page, Kask lists the German Design Award 2023 and the German Innovation Award 2023.
Fit System and choosing your size. Kask's patented Fit System sits at the back and, according to Kask, settles automatically against the back of the head. It is not a size adjuster: the size depends on the shell and the thickness of the liner. At Maddelin you buy the Dogma Hunter by shell size, 51/56, 57/59 or 60/63, and choose the liner in your head circumference in cm. That liner comes free with the helmet.
Certification. KASK certifies its current production of the Dogma Hunter to EN 1384:2023 and ASTM F1163-23 (with the SEI label). The standards of your helmet are shown on the label under the liner; a helmet from an older production run may carry an older standard. For current production, KASK also tests its helmets to its own rotational impact protocol, the Rotational Impact WG11 Test. This is an internal KASK protocol, not a standard.
