The Kask Star Lady Chrome is a riding helmet with a wide peak for dressage and show jumping. Kask pairs an ABS shell, covered in a fabric that Kask describes as waterproof and scratch-resistant, with a chrome frame. Maddelin offers it in six colour combinations and three shell sizes. You choose the liner in your head circumference with the helmet, and it comes free of charge.
About this riding helmet
The Star Lady Chrome is the Star Lady with a chrome frame and a shell covered in Prestige fabric, a fabric of Kask's own. According to Kask, this covering makes the ABS outer shell waterproof, resists scratches and is easy to clean. The Star Lady itself is a variant of the Kask Dogma. The visible difference is the wide peak: on this helmet, a peak in polyamide 6.6, also covered in Prestige fabric.
Maddelin offers this version in Black, Anthracite, Brown, Black/Rosegold, Navy/Rosegold and Navy/Chrome Black. For an understated helmet that goes with any outfit, Black and Anthracite are the obvious choices; Rosegold gives the chrome frame a warmer touch.
Beneath the shell sits an inner shell in expanded polystyrene (EPS) in three densities, with two honeycomb ventilation grilles. The 100% merino wool liner clips into the shell with the Click-in System, using three pins, and is removable and washable. At the back, the patented Fit System settles against the back of the head by itself, according to Kask, and also gives support at the nape. The chin strap is faux leather. Kask gives 580 g for the Star Lady Chrome, without saying for which size.
Maddelin sells the helmet by shell size: 51/56, 57/59 or 60/63. The liner is interchangeable and sets your size in cm. With the helmet you choose the liner in your head circumference, for example 58 in the 57/59 shell, and that liner comes free with the helmet.
KASK certifies its current production of the Star Lady Chrome to EN 1384:2023 and ASTM F1163-23 (with the SEI label). The standards of your helmet are shown on the label under the liner; a helmet from an older production run may carry an older standard. KASK also tests its helmets to its own rotational impact protocol, the Rotational Impact WG11 Test. This is an internal KASK protocol, not a standard.
Kask positions the Star Lady for dressage and show jumping. The helmet is made in Italy, and Kask gives a 2-year warranty on defects in materials and workmanship, from the date of purchase.
