Frequently asked questions - Buy Back
Our Buy Back service offers you the possibility to trade in your sports equipment quickly and easily at any Decathlon store, giving your products a second life.
We buy back equipment in good, functional, and clean condition for our Second Life and Rental services—we never throw items away. Use our online tool to estimate your product's Buy Back value, see eligible sports, and find participating stores. Please contact your local store to confirm their conditions before visiting. We're expanding the service to more sports.
We use a pricing guide developed by sports experts. The Buy Back price depends on your equipment's type, age, and condition. You will receive an online estimate based on the information you provide. This price is finalized after our team checks your equipment in-store. A counter-offer may be made if the in-store diagnosis does not match your online description.
In general, we buy back products up to 6 years old. This depends on the general condition of the product, our ability to order spare parts if repairs are needed, and the resale appeal of the product. We never buy to throw away. If your product is too old or too damaged, our teams will offer to recycle it through our partners , such as Velafrica for bikes.
The Buy Back of your equipment may be refused if : the equipment is not clean or in good condition, the equipment is not eligible for Buy Back, and/or the store does not currently buy back this equipment (please contact your store before your visit)
