How do I choose my boxing gloves? Make sure the gloves fit comfortably with sufficient padding and support. Other than that, there is not much to consider.
As a beginner, focus on lightweight training gloves of 12-14 oz. These gloves are optimal for everyone. If you are more experienced, use gloves of 16-18 oz.
The following glove sizes are most common: • 12 oz - Typical lightweight training glove • 14 oz - Heavier training glove or light sparring glove • 16 oz - Most used for sparring • 18 oz - Heavyweight class sparring gloves
