The radical new look and design of the X-SYNC 2 Eagle chainring is a direct result of studies conducted by SRAM transmission engineers on the performance and wear characteristics of thousands of X-SYNC chainrings. We subjected all sizes of chainrings to countless environmental and mechanical tortures, abuse and neglect, both in the laboratory and in real life, before arriving at a chainring that could increase the performance of the Eagle transmission in all conditions. The specific shape of the teeth was designed to fit perfectly with the new Eagle chain, to increase chain retention and overall pedaling efficiency, while reducing friction, noise and wear.X-SYNC 2 chainring design increases chain retention and life, while reducing friction and noise.
