Waterproofing
The anorak was tested in a 60L/m²/hour rain shower for 2 hours to ensure durability.
We measure fabric waterproofness by its resistance to water pressure in mm (ISO 811 standard). A higher number means better waterproofing.
This jacket's fabric withstands 5,000 mm of water pressure, even after 5 washes, equating to 5,000 Schmerber.
Fabric breathability
To test the breathability of our sailing jacket, we look at evaporative resistance, or RET. This measures how easily moisture, like sweat, can escape from the inside of the jacket to the outside.
Lower RET values mean the fabric is more breathable. If a jacket has a RET of less than 9, it’s considered very breathable. A RET between 9 and 12 means that the jacket is breathable and will help to reduce condensation.
This jacket is made with more resistant fabric, rated at RET < 12.
How to reactivate the jacket's water repellency
Drying is essential for reactivating your jacket's water-repellent treatment. We recommend laying it flat on a clothes rack and allowing it to air dry in a well-ventilated area.
Important: Never dry your jacket directly on a radiator.
For best results, place the jacket in the tumble dryer on a short synthetic cycle for 10 to 15 minutes, then turn it right side out.
Note: Avoid over-drying to maintain the integrity of the fabric.
