Design details

WATERPROOFNESS OF THIS JACKET
The waterproof properties of this jacket aren’t just limited to its components: the assembly technique of the different parts is also an evaluation criterion. Sewn then sealed, the overall waterproof properties of your jacket are measured with a shower test developed by Decathlon that simulates rain of varying intensity. As such, this waterproof NH550 jacket protects you from a shower, equivalent to 12 cm of rain in 2 hours.
Technical liners
The jacket lining is made up of two materials: mesh in the back to improve the garment's breathability and nylon at the hips to maximise ease of movement and resistance to wear. We have used an ultra-soft fabric on the hood for added comfort.
Preserving the performance of your jacket
To maintain the water-repellency of the fabric, we recommend reactivating it regularly. Do this every three washes (it is important to rinse abundantly) or after a dozen uses in the rain. You can easily reactivate the water repellent property by warming the fabric: - in your tumble dryer for 15 minutes (synthetic program) - with a hair dryer at a distance of 20 cm going back and forth twice - or twice over with an iron on the delicate setting without the steam function
Choose your waterproof jacket according to your sports effort
This jacket is designed for a day hike at a speed of 5 km/h on level ground. During sports activity, the extent to which we perspire depends on the intensity or the duration of the physical effort If the breathability of the fabric is not adapted to your type of physical activity, the perspiration vapour condenses inside the jacket You will feel damp inside this is not rain coming through but perspiration vapour condensing Choose a waterproof jacket according to your level of physical activity.
Waterproofing of the component of this jacket
The waterproofing of a fabric by a coating or a membrane is measured in Schmerbers or mm H2O (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. This jacket is designed with a waterproof coating (JIS 1092 standard): this component resists 5,000mm H2O (Schmerbers) before washing (equivalent to the pressure exerted by a 5m column of water).
Fabric breathability
The JIS L 1099 B1 test measures the water vapour that passes through the fabric in 24h, in grams per sqm. The higher this value is, the more breathable the fabric. With a water repellency rating of 5,000 g/m²/24 hrs and some breathability, this garment is suitable for moderate-intensity walking in the countryside.
Technical hood
The hood can be adjusted in height using a drawstring. It can be adjusted in depth thanks to a velcro tab at the back of the hood. The hood has a shape memory visor for good protection of the face.
A complete pocket system
The jacket has seven pockets in total! Two side pockets for warming your hands. Two large external bellows pockets with flap and press stud closure. One outer chest pocket and one inside pocket with zip closing to secure your personal belongings. One inner mesh pocket, to keep your gloves for example, and keep them warm against your body!
