The PST 950 MIPS provides maximum field of vision for greater comfort and increased safety by limiting blind spots. The new rotation system means you do not feel any discomfort if you wear glasses underneath and has the advantage of fitting more snugly to the face; therefore reducing the amount of air that can get in.
An HD visor for excellent vision, with anti-fog treatment.
The visor provided is a “fair-weather” one (S3). Its HD optical quality increases contrast and allows for better visibility of the terrain. It can be removed without tools and replaced with a ‘bad weather’ visor, sold separately. Never wipe it, but rather pat it with a soft cloth.
The visor offers an advantage for those who wear glasses: it really widens your field of vision.
In addition to being suitable for wearing over glasses while skiing, the visor widens the field of vision by 25% horizontally and 7% vertically. This allows you to anticipate better and not miss a thing, for more fun and safety!
MIPS® technology reduces rotational energy from an impact and limits the risk of brain injury.
The low-friction layer (yellow layer under the helmet shell) allows multi-directional movement of 10 to 15 mm during certain angled impacts, aiming to reduce the rotational force transmitted to the head and brain.
Adjustment wheel.
The adjustment wheel plays a key role in keeping your helmet secure. It allows for easy and precise adjustment, thanks to a dial that can be accessed even with ski gloves on, providing comfort and safety. Turn the dial to the right to tighten and to the left to loosen.
EN 1077 Standard
This type of structure incorporates an outer shell, made of ABS, injection moulded to withstand powerful impacts. It is resistant to bumps and strikes. The internal EPOS skullcap absorbs impact and collision at the time of impact. We recommend changing your ski helmet at least every 5 years unless it has sustained a significant impact in the meantime.
How to choose the right size and trying on your helmet
Measure the circumference of your head (from the middle of your forehead to the top of your ears) and choose the right size. When trying on the helmet, you should not feel any discomfort. If the helmet does not have a visor, try it on with a pair of goggles: There should be no gaps between the two.
Adjust your helmet once you have the right size.
For your safety, your ski helmet must be properly adjusted: - The head circumference must be adjusted using the tightening dial. - The chin strap must be correctly adjusted. You should be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your skin. If it is not adjusted properly, the helmet will not protect you as it should.
When to change your ski helmet?
We recommend changing your ski helmet every 5 years, unless it has sustained a significant impact in the meantime. In case of severe impact, you need to change the helmet: even if you can’t see it, the inner material may be damaged and your helmet will offer less protection.
A helmet keeps you warm: you don't need to wear a hat underneath – in fact, it’s best not to.
Avoid wearing a hat, as this will create a gap between your head and your helmet and reduce your protection. If necessary, opt for a very thin balaclava designed for this purpose. Avoid putting a camera on the helmet, as this will compromise your safety. The standard does not take into account any elements added to the helmet.
This helmet is governed by European standard EN 1077:2007, applicable to helmets used in downhill skiing or snowboarding.
It is characterised by its shock absorption capacity and penetration resistance. There are two categories of protection: - Class A: the top and back of the head, as well as the ears and sides of the head. - Class B: the top and back of the head, but not the ears.
