How is the safety rating determined?
The security rating helps you choose the lock that is most suited to your needs. To this end, B'TWIN has drawn up a testing protocol with an independent laboratory, the CNPP, based on real-world theft scenarios (bicycle attached to street furniture). This protocol enables each lock to be given a comparable rating from 0 to 10 indicating how theft resistant it is. The D1200 is our first bike lock to achieve the top score of 10/10. This guarantees you the best possible resistance.

What makes this model unique is its capacity to withstand an electric angle grinder for several minutes using up several cutting discs. This makes any attempt at theft very difficult and acts as a deterrent, providing the best possible security for your bike. It has resistance to other types of brute-force attacks, such as those involving a hammer or bolt cutters. This bike lock has been tested and approved by the leading European organisations: ART4, Sold Secure Diamond and SRA.
Lock body.
The 16 mm square-section handle made of case-hardened alloy (chromium, manganese, Titanium) gives this bike lock superior resistance. The 0.5 mm layer of silicon carbide provides resistance to damage from an angle grinder. These materials can be found on the lock block. Rubber coating to stop the lock banging against your bike and prevent it from damaging the paintwork. The handle is locked into the body of the bike lock using a double locking mechanism.
Lock
The high-security stainless steel cylinder is both durable and offers a high level of protection against attempts to pick or drill out the lock. The lock is protected by a rain- and dust-proof silicone cover. This bike lock comes with three numbered keys and a product identification card showing the serial numbers of your keys. This makes it possible to report them if they are lost.
Transporting the bike lock.
The D1200 comes with a mounting bracket so you can carry it on your bike. The tensioned strap mount allows it to be attached to any type of tube with a diameter of between 60 and 180 mm. This system can therefore be attached to various parts of the bike (frame, fork, pannier rack, etc.).
