In which conditions should you wear full-length socks?
These socks are recommended for high-intensity and frequent use. If you hunt in aggressive cover for several hours a week, for example when woodcock hunting, or as a beater on a drive hunt, if you have to make your way through brambles, jump and run after the dogs, or if you hunt without making any physical compromises, then these socks will keep you comfortable at all times.
What materials are these socks made of?
These socks are made using 70% Thermocool thread which limits foot heat and wicks away perspiration, and 30% Merino wool in the body of the sock to prevent odours. The top has an integrated cushioned area to draw perspiration away from the foot to keep feet feeling dry. The underside of the socks is knitted with a thread that prevents blisters. Finally, polyamide reinforcements have been incorporated around the entire sock.
The advantages of Merino wool
Merino wool regulates body temperature and wicks away moisture. These qualities make it ultra-comfortable and soft. This material also naturally limits the growth of odour-causing bacteria. In other words, after a physical effort and heavy perspiration, merino wool prevents evaporation and helps to maintain body temperature by absorbing most body moisture. This limits the unpleasant chilling effect.
Type of knit and elasticated band
These socks are made from a tight-knit fabric. The main advantage is that they provide a firmer fit on the leg, but this does not compromise their flexibility. Overall, this reduces slippage during physical activity. Furthermore, the flexible design on this model provides a more precise fit across the arch of the foot, ensuring greater stability and preventing the sock from twisting inside the shoe.
Ankle support
This style of sock features a special insert at the ankle for better support. The benefit: this extra insert protects the ankle from chafing and pressure points caused by the tongue or the stiff edges of the shoe, thereby significantly improving comfort over time.
A word about the weave
The heel and toe reinforcements feature a 70/2 + 70/2 FFT weave. In practical terms, this stronger weave directly increases the durability and lifespan of the sock. It prevents premature thinning and the formation of holes in areas subject to friction.
Why should you choose a sock size suited to your foot size?
It is important to choose a sock size that fits your foot to avoid any extra folds: if the sock is too big, there will be too much material around your foot and you will not be comfortable; if the sock is too small, it will be "dragged" down towards the inside of the shoe, which may cause rubbing, pain or even blisters by the end of your outing.
How to wash your Merino wool socks
We recommend you wash these Merino wool socks in the washing machine at 30°, on a normal cycle, preferably with a liquid detergent. Dry flat, NEVER in a tumble dryer, unless you want to shrink them by a size or two!
