The Quechua design team tests every product rigorously - both in the lab and out in the French mountains.
Isothermal testing
To test the isothermal section, we half-filled it (without ice packs) and recorded how long it took for the food to warm up (from 5 to 15°C) in an ambient temperature of 32°C. It took 4 hours, and the bottle holders took 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to reach your picnic spot and enjoy your lunch.

Strength testing
To ensure that your backpack will withstand harsh weather and long wear, we fill it with weight and attach it to a dummy which simulates hiking through different conditions. This way, we can check that the bag won't suffer from abrasion, repeated washing, exposure to light, or rainstorms.

User testing
After this bag completed our lab tests, we asked a panel of around 100 experienced walkers to test it on their hikes in the Haute-Savoie region, near our lab. They gave it the final seal of approval.
