And in the wild
Quechua products are also tested in the mountains, in the same conditions children are likely to face on hikes: wind, snow and rain. Our field test engineer, product manager and a panel of testers put every product through its paces until it is ready for the shelves.
Thermal performance
In a thermal laboratory, we tested these boots under simulated walking conditions with light winds of around 5 km/h. This allowed us to measure thermal resistance and establish a “comfort limit,” the temperature at which 70% of wearers still felt comfortable. For these boots, that limit is an impressive –10 °C.
