Experience
The Hawx prime is one of the boots with intermediate Fit. Its anatomical shape is very close to that of the foot. There is space at the forefoot (toe box) and thinner areas at the ankles and arch of the foot. From the very first seconds, the skier feels good in their shoes. It provides immediate comfort and precise skiability. Its Boa® tightening system is very intuitive and precise, for easier and more progressive adjustment
Structure
Boa adjustment system for precise and constant adjustment. A thermoformable Mimic liner fitted with Power Ankle Lock asymmetric locking system ensures secure and effective support. Prolite construction (shell thicknesses are optimised at maximum and reinforcements are positioned in certain places to reduce the weight while maintaining responsiveness. Energy Backbone or Spine carbon reinforcement / the boot is 25% lighter and more stable than all other constructions
Buckle adjustment
These boots are equipped with 2 very strong aluminium micro-metric hooks + a cable that winds up via an adjustment wheel You can adjust the length of the buckle by tightening or loosening the hook. The top buckle has 3 positions to fit all calf sizes. A wide, adjustable strap at the top of the upper makes for strong and easy closure at the top of the shell.
How do you know if the boot you are trying on is the right size?
Put the boots on, close the buckles to mid-adjustment level and perform three different flexes by pressing on the shins, hands on the knees to push back on the heel. When standing upright, your toes brush against the edge of the shell. While flexing, your foot moves backwards and your toes are no longer in contact.
What is “Mondopoint” sizing?
The size of a ski boot doesn’t translate the same way as for normal shoes: we refer to “Mondopoint” sizing. This is the measurement used by almost all equipment suppliers, which simply corresponds to the size of your feet in centimetres.
What is FLEX?
The flex is an indicator of rigidity: the higher its value, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 60 to 70 is considered for beginners, a flex of 70 to 100 for intermediate skiers, and beyond, the product is for advanced skiers. Heavy builds can, however, go up a level.
What should you do if you experience foot pain?
Choose a technical ski sock that’s thin so it prevents pressure points and promotes blood circulation in the foot. Choose a sole adapted to the shape of your foot to prevent it from getting crushed or bumping against the shell. Ask a sales assistant or an assistant in the shop for advice.
How to store your ski boots?
1 - Ventilate your boots by removing the liner. 2 - Fasten the hooks at the first notch to prevent the boots from becoming deformed (after each use) and, if possible, store them in a boot bag. 3 - Store in a cool, dry place.
