At our Quechua laboratory, we run a full series of tests to ensure our boots are warm, waterproof and comfortable in all types of snow. We also put them through field trials in real mountain hiking conditions.
Warmth test
Laboratory and field tests are carried out with a specially selected panel of users. These allow us to measure thermal insulation so you’ll stay comfortable when standing still at -11°C and while moving in conditions as cold as -20°C.
Waterproof test
We simulate walking in wet conditions by immersing the boots halfway in water to confirm they are fully waterproof. We then run field tests to check long-term durability, including the robustness of seams and materials.
Renew the waterproofing
Restore the waterproofing with a suitable spray or liquid, available at Decathlon stores.
