The universal bit combines voice pressure and leverage and is ideal for those who need a little more control. The durable, double-jointed rubber mouthpiece with copper pellets provides a higher level of comfort in the horse's mouth. The copper pellets help distribute pressure on the tongue and bars of the mouth, encouraging bite and contact. They also help prevent pinching of the lips and mouth bars, while reducing the nutcracker effect of a single-jointed bit. It is ideal for horses that need a little more braking power but may be sensitive in the mouth. Also known as the continental bit, it works by lifting the bit into the horse's mouth in the same manner as a traditional gag, but without the same severity. Probing pressure can be applied using the lower rings. A softer option than the three-ring Dutch gag, this bit is ideal for cavaliers who need a little more control when jumping or doing work rapide, but don't need massive pressure on the neck. Measurements According to our size guide, the A and B measurements for this bit are as follows: 4.5' & 5' - A=15mm & B=110mm 5.5' - A=15mm & B=135mm Rubber horse bits ... Rubber coated bits generally have thicker mouthpieces, making them softer and ideal for horses with sensitive mouths or those who do not like metal bits. Our rubber bits have been heat treated to make them softer to the touch and more durable. Due to their thicker mouthpiece, they may not be suitable for horses with small mouths or large tongues.Pair your universal bit with one of our anatomical bridles. For health and hygiene reasons, this bit cannot be returned if removed from the model.
