The Hayabusa T3 boxing gloves are built around the Dual-X system: two interlocking velcro straps that cross and lock into each other rather than simply overlapping. This system, combined with 4 internal Fusion Splinting rails integrated into the cuff, keeps the wrist in neutral alignment on impact, reducing force transfer to the joint during repeated strikes. The Deltra-EG padding is a multi-layer foam structure that absorbs energy through successive layers rather than distributing it uniformly like standard foam. The palm is perforated to evacuate heat, and the AG Fabric inner lining is temperature-regulating and antibacterial. The microfiber thumb is attached and positioned along an ergonomic axis that replicates the closed thumb position without constraining the joint. The exterior is Vylar, a high-density synthetic material developed by Hayabusa to resist abrasion from bag, pads and ring ropes without cracking over time as genuine leather does when exposed to sweat. What is Vylar and why does Hayabusa not use genuine leather? Vylar is a high-density synthetic material developed by Hayabusa. Unlike genuine leather, which gradually degrades from sweat moisture and repeated wet/dry cycles, Vylar retains its mechanical properties over time. It also resists abrasion from repeated contact with heavy bags and pads better than animal-derived leather. Vylar requires no conditioner: a simple wipe with a damp cloth after each session is sufficient. How to choose between 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 oz? The choice depends on body weight and use. 10 oz is used for bag and pads up to around 65 kg. 12 oz suits bag and pads for most intermediate body weights. 14 oz covers bag, pads and light sparring from 75 kg. 16 oz is the standard size for sparring above 80 kg. 18 oz is recommended for heavier frames or to maximise partner protection in sparring.
