The Tappabuco is an ideal repair tool for tubeless tire punctures. Designed for use as a handlebar end plug on road and mountain bikes, it can also be carried inside most Shimano and SRAM bottom bracket shells (it fits holes with an inner diameter between 15 and 20 mm).
Easy to carry
Specific version for 1.5 or 3.5 mm plugs
Lightweight
Why we created it: Repair plugs have become a common way to fix larger punctures in tubeless tires. With the "Tappabuco" (which means "hole plug" in Italian), Effetto Mariposa aims to offer a practical solution for road and mountain biking that is easy to carry and quick to use.
IMPORTANT: Depending on the internal surface of the handlebar, removing the Tappabuco may be more or less easy. Try removing the Tappabuco after inserting it into your handlebars. If it's too difficult, lubricate the handlebars to make removing the tool easier and quickly repair punctures.
Spare plugs can be stored on the Tappabuco by keeping them on a card of 5 and inserting the fork between two plugs. Tappabuco plug refills are sold in convenient packs of 25.
Specific version for 1.5 or 3.5 mm plugs
The Tappabuco is available in two versions:
Tappabuco 1.5: optimized for plugs with a 1.5 mm diameter and 50 mm length.
Tappabuco 3.5: optimized for plugs with a 3.5 mm diameter and 50 mm length.
While the larger and more common 3.5 mm plug is excellent for larger punctures on mountain bike tires, a 1.5 mm plug is often sufficient for minor damage or road/gravel tires: having both is simply better.
Lightweight
The Tappabuco is made of high-density silicone with a stainless steel fork for maximum durability and adaptability. It weighs just 13 g for the 3.5 mm Tappabuco and 11 g for the 1.5 mm Tappabuco.
