We recommend the following principles to maximise the benefits of our boots:
Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont Blanc in Haute-Savoie. This location means we can test our products on a wealth of varied and demanding terrain.
Tested in the lab
The Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It brings together four themes, each with its own area and technological tools:
And in the great outdoors
To meet your requirements, Quechua products are rigorously tested in the mountains in conditions you’re likely to encounter during your hikes – such as wind, snow and rain. Our field test engineer and product manager, as well as a panel of testers, put all products through their paces throughout their development until they hit the shelves.
Refined for regular use
When refining the design for these boots, we tested a lot of things to make sure the construction would last you through many hikes. This included testing the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, glueing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated ageing.
