To adequately test a putter and to refine its design, you really need to replicate a perfect swing over and over again, which is impossible for a human being, even a pro. So we had to look elsewhere. Meet Mister Archie, a robot putter first invented by a retired American surgeon, who was kind enough to build one for INESIS, so we could test our prototypes.
A high MOI allows the putter to stay in line during the swing, with an even distribution of mass for optimal balance.
I drew my inspiration from the automobile industry. I was able to explore the large zone on top of the putter to offer a simple and devilishly effective alignment system. We put a lot of love into the finishing touches to achieve a very nice object. It’s the product I am most proud of!
Thomas Amreim
Club designer
Our design aimed at perfect hand positioning on the club thanks to a tapered Pistol grip as well as very precise aim thanks to the alignment line.
Using the robot, the testing protocol was carried out over three standard distances, by hitting the ball in the centre, heel and toe.
The robot, Mister Archie, allowed us to test our prototype with near 100% putting precision so we could analyse dispersion, tolerance to uncentred hits, rolling, distance and more.
The right advice and the right purchase
A beginner at golf, with second-hand equipment to start out with, I wasn’t enjoying being on the green, lacking precision and regularity. After consulting with the Decathlon team, I chose the INESIS putter. And from the very first putt, the abysmal gulf between my entry-level blade putter and this mallet putter was obvious. Precision and regularity, yes, and also the pleasure of holding it, the sound upon impact with the ball, and the desire to keep practicing!

Protecting the putter
To protect the putter face, we recommend always using the cover when the club is not in use.
At the Inesis Golf Park, we test our putters with a specially built robot that replicates the perfect putting swing nearly 100% every time.
Distance test
We test the putter over 3 distances: short (6ft – 1.83 metres), average (12ft – 3.66 metres) and long (21ft – 6.40 metres), as these are the most common distances in putting tests. We test by hitting the ball in the centre, heel and toe of the putter.
Sink those crucial putts
Its high MOI (Moment of Inertia) provides the ultimate in forgiveness. Your putts will be straighter, even when mishit.
Great feel, lovely sound
The TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane) insert gives a great feel. A machined steel face gives a positive sound at impact.
Watch your ball roll perfectly
Grooves are fine-tuned down to a tenth of a millimetre. They’re machined in a semi-circle for a better ball roll.
