Ideal for light-line, discreet fishing, its flexibility makes it easier to present lures or bait. For powerful lure fishing, its elasticity absorbs the rushes of powerful fish such as bluefin tuna and acts as a shockleader to limit the risk of breakage when attacking and fighting. For land-based fishing such as surfcasting, its main role is to absorb the shock generated by an extremely powerful cast with a high weight.
A flexible and discreet fluorocarbon
The flexibility of SOFT fluorocarbon gives the lure a smooth, natural swimming action, ideal for wary fish and light-line techniques. Its elasticity absorbs shocks during combat, limiting breakage. More malleable, it facilitates the creation of discreet and reliable knots. Its low shape memory ensures a straighter, more natural presentation in the water, for precise, effective rigs.
Recommended knots between your braided line and fluorocarbon leader
Depending on the braid and fluorocarbon diameters that you want to connect, we recommend using: - the Grinner Double knot for connecting diameters close together - the FG knot or the Albright knot for connecting diameters a long way apart The heat caused by friction can deteriorate the resistance of fluorocarbon, so we advise you to moisten your knots.

The limits of SOFT fluorocarbon
Although stronger than conventional nylon, this fluorocarbon is less resistant to abrasion than the HARD version. It is therefore less suited to congested areas or fish with sharp teeth such as pike. For these demanding situations, opt for our 100% Fluorocarbon HARD (ref. 8978543), specially designed to offer maximum durability and protection.
