Kids need shoes that are adapted to their growing feet and intense activity levels. With the PLAY collection, DECATHLON has designed an ideal range for young outdoor adventurers with a focus on comfort, cushioning, support and flexibility. PLAY includes 5 models for everyday wear: Playful Fast, Playventure City, Playful Summer, Playventure Yard and Playventure Resist.
The goal was to create a shoe with a very flexible sole, allowing the foot to remain close to the ground, to get stronger and to develop well.
The design promotes contact at the front of the foot (the “barefoot” effect) thanks to fairly weak rear cushioning and also protects the foot in case of a quick change.
A study led by the biomechanics lab of the University of Valenciennes with a school allowed us to measure the impact of a shoe on a child’s development in the long term.
Over 200 prototypes, tests were conducted in a lab based on 1140 simulations, with different thicknesses and compositions of the sole.
At Decathlon, we're passionate about our products. And with plenty of 5 star reviews, we're happy to hear you like our products as much as we do.
