Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont Blanc in Haute-Savoie. This unique location allows us to test products on a wide variety of challenging terrain.
Tested in the real world
To meet kids’ needs, Quechua products are tested in the mountains in conditions you’re likely to encounter on hikes. The children of our teams, along with a panel of young testers, use the products throughout development until they’re ready for market.
And analysed in the lab
The Decathlon Sportslab in Lille also contributes to Quechua innovation. It brings together four areas of expertise, each with dedicated tools and technology:
Designed for warmth
Softshell panels help retain body heat, providing reliable insulation for cold-weather hikes.
Wind protection
A windproof membrane blocks out windchill to keep young hikers warm and comfortable.
Water resistant
The fabric repels light rain, causing water to bead and roll off instead of soaking in.
