Features of the product
Versatility and use The BEAL Virus 10 mm 60 m rope is designed for the versatile climber who uses different belaying devices and operates in varied conditions. Its intermediate diameter ensures optimal compatibility with most belaying systems and facilitates handling in sport climbing as well as in multi-pitch routes.
Performance and safety Designed according to the EN 892 standard, the Virus presents reliable safety characteristics: measured impact force, dynamic elongation, and shock resistance compliant with the requirements for single ropes. These specifications ensure predictable behavior during falls.
Construction and technical characteristics The sheath represents 37% of the rope, with a weight of 63 g/m, offering good abrasion resistance while maintaining handling flexibility. The dynamic elongation (approximately 33-35%) and static elongation close to 9.7% ensure effective shock absorption.
Handling and durability The diameter of 10 mm provides excellent control at the belaying devices and a good feel for the knot, while offering durability suitable for intensive use. Compact and easy to store rope, ideal for climbers seeking a good balance between weight and robustness.
