Carogna Remover is a powerful solvent designed to completely remove solid adhesive residue from carbon or aluminum rims. A perfectly clean rim is essential for optimal adhesion when bonding tubular tires with Carogna rim tape.
Easy to apply
Thanks to its high viscosity, Carogna Remover won't drip once applied to the rim's bonding surface, even on solid sealant.
Highly effective
After a waiting period of 2 to 12 hours (depending on the type of sealant), Carogna Remover will dissolve the sealant, making it easy to remove with a cloth or plastic tire lever.
Odorless and safe
Despite its powerful action, Carogna Remover contains no hazardous or flammable chemicals and is completely harmless to metal or carbon fiber. The absence of odor means you can safely use it indoors: Carogna Remover won't require you to work outside or open doors and windows in your workshop, unlike fast-evaporating solvents.
How to use it: Carogna Remover should be applied and spread onto the hardened sealant using a small brush. We recommend completely covering the sealant residue with a thick layer (approximately 1 mm) of Remover. Thanks to its high viscosity, Carogna Remover won't drip: it stays on the sealant and dissolves it.
CAUTION: Clean up any excess Carogna Remover immediately if it gets on the rim stickers, as some may dissolve.
CAUTION: Do not apply to the baseband of the tire! Carogna Remover could weaken the adhesion of the baseband to the tire body.
Allow the Carogna Remover to work (between 2 and 12 hours): depending on the type, thickness, and age of the sealant, more time may be needed. Once the old sealant is covered with Remover, the wheel can be suspended and checked periodically, trying to scrape the sealant off with a plastic tire lever or a cloth. If the sealant is still firmly attached, allow more time.
When the old sealant has softened, it can be removed with a cloth or a plastic tire lever.
CAUTION: If you wait too long after the sealant has softened, it will harden upon incorporating the Carogna Remover. No problem: simply apply a fresh coat of Carogna Remover and repeat step #1.
