Designed to let you see behind you without turning your head while cycling, the CORKY X boasts an aesthetic that will feel familiar to tech enthusiasts. Inspired by the form factor of Google Glass, the CORKY X offers a new kind of head-up display (HUD). Featuring a small mirror, this eyewear accessory lets you instantly glance behind you simply by looking out of the corner of your eye.
The CORKY X features a universally adaptable design that attaches securely, comfortably, and in just seconds to any pair of glasses. The product uses a highly reflective PC acrylic mirror, comparable to commercial mirrors but with significantly reduced weight. The mirror is positioned in the corner of your peripheral vision (so as not to block your view of the road ahead) and is mounted in an adjustable housing that allows you to tilt the mirror in any direction, eliminating blind spots for a perfect view of what's behind you.
While the idea behind the CORKY X may seem simple on the surface, the product design process required careful consideration and proved more complex than initially thought. The product's weight, form factor, aerodynamics, and functionality all play a crucial role in ensuring flawless operation, free from malfunctions or the risk of accidents. In this regard, the CORKY X's design specifically achieves three critical objectives:
