A top-of-the-range handlebar should connect you to your bike without being conspicuous. It should combine ergonomic comfort with aerodynamic efficiency. And that's exactly what the Zipp SL 80 Race road bike handlebars, specially designed for use with the SRAM RED AXS groupset, do. Part of the handlebars covers the brake hose outlet at the dome, providing a platform that hugs the brake lever perfectly and is the ideal point support when the rider rides with hands on the dome. The shape of the bottom of the handlebars has been improved to give the rider easy access to the brake lever when riding in a sprint position. The SL 80 Race handlebars also feature marked markings on the top and bottom of the handlebars to simplify positioning of the SRAM Blips wireless satellite buttons. The wing-shaped profile of the top of the handlebars improves aerodynamic efficiency. It also incorporates some fundamental innovations features that contribute to your comfort when riding with your hands on the top of the handlebars. Thanks to the slight downward bend, the hands don't lie flat, which is perfect for long climbs or for riders who prefer to ride with their hands on the top of the handlebars. In general, the top of earlier aero road handlebars was not covered by a handlebar tape. Positioning the hands on the bare carbon of this part was not comfortable and presented a risk of slipping. As for SL 80 Race, it comes with an easy-to-apply heat-shrink sleeve that not only hides the hoses and satellite buttons, but also provides a non-slip surface.
