The Salewa Alpine-Tec Hammer ice axe excels during glacier crossings and on snow-covered slopes and couloirs. Its ergonomic shape ensures comfortable handling while being highly effective. The axe features a shaft made of 7075 aluminum, known for its high strength, with a slight curve that aids in ice climbing. The head is made of carbon steel, with a 3mm blade on one side and a hammer on the other. This model includes a minimalist grip that enhances control during challenging passages, adjustable without tools. At the bottom, there is a tungsten tip that provides stability on ice or compact snow. Key features of the Salewa Alpine-Tec axe include: a slightly curved shaft with a hammer head, a carbon steel head, a 7075 aluminum shaft, a durable and sharp carbide tip at the bottom of the shaft, comfortable to carry due to the ergonomically shaped head, aggressive 3mm blade, excellent anchoring thanks to weight concentration in the head, minimalist grip with tool-free adjustment, sharpened shovel for step cutting, slightly curved upper part of the shaft, and holes for carabiner attachment on the head and lower part of the shaft.
