The Salewa Alpinist Walk is a robust and versatile stainless steel crampon that can be fixed for technical ice climbing, mixed routes, and general mountaineering. Its 3D carbon steel frame is strong and lightweight, featuring a soft-edged front basket to be worn with climbing shoes that have no overhang at the toes or heel. The horizontal front points provide reliable grip and load transfer on steep ice and horizontal rock edges. Additionally, they promote efficient forward movement and an ergonomic roll. The overall geometry and semi-aggressive secondary points are designed to offer better grip on ice and snow, while additional points in the middle of the foot provide extra safety on icy ridges and black ice. Besides its rugged and lightweight design (795 grams), what truly sets this universal crampon apart is its unique adjustable-length straps. No more excess ends sticking out! This significant innovation greatly reduces the risk of tripping. The anti-balling flex plates, which seal off the entire inner face, minimize snow buildup.
