Many revolutionary advances in table tennis are attributed to the traditional German brand Schildkröt, including the invention of the table tennis ball thanks to the introduction of the bubble-pressing method to manufacture the popular celluloid ball in 1896. With the CarboTec snowshoe series, Donic-Schildkröt has once again positioned itself as a pioneer in innovation: for the first time, the blade and handle are made from high-quality carbon fiber instead of wood, making them considerably stronger and more rigid than traditional wooden constructions. The player discovers a totally new playing sensation, and thanks to the superior energy restitution, it's possible to play much faster while mastering the basic techniques of table tennis, whether for the ambitious leisure player or even the curious club player. It's important to note that, according to ITTF regulations, a certain proportion of wood is required for official competitions, which means that CarboTec rackets are ahead of their time and not yet authorized for official competition play. The "CarboTec 3000" is a flagship model in this product range, with a carbon content of 50%, and features exclusive equipment down to the smallest detail. The innovative "one-piece" carbon construction (no separation between pallet and handle) is highly maneuverable and long-lasting, as well as being relatively impervious to the elements. The top-quality "Energy" rubber features a 2.1 mm thick foam for maximum ball acceleration and excellent grip, enabling all playing techniques such as spin to be transferred to the ball efficiently. With CarboTec racquets, the coating is also equipped with the clever "QRC" (Quick Rubber Change) coating replacement system: this allows the coating to be replaced or upgraded in a matter of seconds, and combined with the high strength and durability of the carbon racquet, CarboTec also offers a valuable solution for durability. This convincing product line has been conceived and designed in Germany, and is manufactured under strict quality control. Since their market launch, CarboTec snowshoes have already won a number of awards, including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award and the Plus X Award in the Innovation, High Quality and Functionality categories. Donic enjoys an excellent worldwide reputation in the competitive table tennis segment and equips many famous top players. The traditional German brand Schildkröt has been on the market for over 100 years and is considered the inventor of the table tennis ball. Today, Donic-Schildkröt is the undisputed leader in recreational table tennis in Central Europe. Production takes place at Schildkröt's BSCI-certified factory in China, to the highest social standards.
