The Academy Grade 2 is a 14-inch bike specially designed for children. In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy set itself the goal of manufacturing a children's bike that was as lightweight and high-quality as possible, perfectly suited to children. Ergonomics and weight were decisive factors here.
Product details
Weight is a decisive factor, especially for children who want to learn to ride a bike. The Academy Grade 2 weighs only 5.3 kg and is one of the lightest children's bikes on the market. Thanks to its low weight, the Academy Grade is more manoeuvrable in corners and makes it easier for young cyclists to accelerate and climb hills. With a lightweight bike, children don't need much strength to get it moving.
The low step-through frame makes it easy for children to get on and off. The patented Vario stem grows in height and length and can be continuously adjusted, allowing the bike to be optimally adapted to the rider's sitting position. The Q factor reflects the cyclist's pedalling motion. For children, it is particularly important to have a low Q factor so that pedalling is optimally adapted to children.
