How is usage temperature measured?
All our gloves are laboratory tested on a thermal hand. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions. The mittens are rated at a warmth level of 4 out of 5. Recommended temperature during activity: 9 °C
What are the special features of this glove?
- Lightweight padded mitten enabling you to uncover your fingers (excluding the thumb) for tasks requiring precision - Can be worn over a liner glove - 2 small magnets hold the outer part in place when open - Silicone print on the palm for better grip - Outer layer made of light fabric - Soft inside lining for greater thermal resistance - 60g/sqm padding for efficient heat delivery - Storage pouch
How to properly protect your hands from the cold
By applying the layering principle, you can optimise the insulation of your hands. So, by wearing under-gloves, in addition to these mittens, several layers of air are created around your hands, effectively insulating them from the cold. To benefit from this, it’s important to wear large enough gloves to prevent your fingers from being constricted. This is because the compression slows down the blood flow in the fingers, which prevents them from keeping warm.
How to keep your hands warm with the right clothing
When active, the body generates heat which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of your clothing. If the clothing is inadequate, your body cools and the blood flow to the hands and feet drops in order to keep your upper body warm. Your clothing can therefore play a role in keeping your hands warm.
How do I look after my mittens?
We recommend machine-washing your mittens at 30°C, on a normal cycle, preferably using liquid detergent. Dry them on a flat surface, but don’t put them on a heat source. This can damage and deform them.
