EXPERIENCE
2 different radius depending on the ski size perfectly adapt to your preferred type of turn 2 sizes which correspond to 2 programmes and not to ski size based on the user's height. XTR 156 = Xtra Short turn for very short turns, very explosive ski STR 161 = Short turn, it’s the most versatile of the 900 R for medium to long turns
STRUCTURE
The ski’s full length wood core ensures even deformation in curves, for a responsive, comfortable and stable ski. Carbon reinforcement for "energising" the ski during acceleration. Melamine vertical edges which create a firm grip on hard snow. High molecular weight sole.
BINDINGS
LOOK branded bindings, NX 12 KONECT model GW white Grip Walk Compatible DIN from 3 to 12 Suitable for ski boots with a sole length between 255 mm and 378 mm.
STRENGTH
Aluminium nose tip and ABS heel reinforcement.
PREPARATION
Waxed and sharpened skis, ready to use. Edge sharpened to 89°.
SIDECUT
122/68/103 for size 156 / 161 The sidecut corresponds to the mm width of the tip, waist and tail. As for the curve radius, the smaller it is the shorter the ski will turn (small turns) The bigger the curve radius the more the ski will turn 2 radius= 2 programmes depending on the preferred type of turn - Radius XTR - 156cm = 11.1 m for very short turns - Radius STR - 161cm = 11.9 m for medium to long turns
What is the rocker?
When placing a ski on the ground, its points of contact are found near the tip and tail, whereas the middle of the ski (under the bindings) is slightly raised. This is the camber. The longer and higher the camber, the greater the edge grip and more responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more forgiving the ski and the better the handling.
WHAT IS A ROCKER?
On a "rocker" ski, the tip, and sometimes the tail, comes off the ground sooner than with a cambered ski: this has the effect of moving the contact points toward the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is shortened and offers manoeuvrability and floatability in soft snow. When leaning into turns, the edge length offers more edge grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the handling of the ski.
OUR AFTER-SKI ADVICE
After a long day skiing, this is what you need to do to guarantee your ski's long life: * Wipe your edges with a cloth at the end of the day to prevent rusting. * Use ski ties to prevent the soles from rubbing against each other. * Store your skis in a dry place and away from sunlight.
