How waterproof is it?
Reliable protection with its 20,000 mm Schmerber waterproof rating! This jacket uses an effective 3-layer membrane, taped seams and protected zips to create a solid barrier against the elements. You stay comfortably dry even in heavy rain.
A highly breathable jacket
The challenge with waterproof jackets? Keeping water out while wicking away moisture from the inside! This jacket solves this complex dilemma with its highly breathable fabric (RET=6) combined with large side openings. Score: maximum moisture wicking for optimal comfort.
Anything to say about the fit?
Fitted cut with 13% elastane and raglan sleeves extending up to the neckline for greater stretch. A design that gives you freedom of movement when hiking. Can be layered with a fleece or a lightweight puffer jacket. Tip: Choose your usual size for a fitted look, or size up for a looser fit.
The extra feature of the hood
The attached hood is adjustable in height and depth thanks to an elasticated cord. Stiff visor for maximum face protection. The small detail that makes the difference: A triangular opening on the side for better peripheral visibility.
What are Schmerbers?
The Schmerber index measures the water resistance of a fabric when it is subjected to hydraulic pressure: the higher the value, the better the waterproofing properties! At 20,000 mm H2O, this jacket can withstand the equivalent of a 20-metre column of water. What does that mean in practical terms? You can be sure you’ll stay dry even in heavy rain.
Why a three-layer material?
The three-layer construction includes an ultra-thin polyurethane membrane between the inner and outer layers. Protected by a knit fabric, it guarantees optimal waterproofing and breathability while being more flexible and lightweight than a traditional coating.
What is a RET index?
The RET index reveals a fabric's ability to naturally wick away perspiration to the outside. The golden rule? The lower the number, the better the performance! Our RET=6 rating puts this jacket at the top of the scale: <6 = extremely breathable, <12 = highly breathable, <20 = breathable, >20 = not very breathable.
How to maintain water repellency
Water repellency allows water to slide off the fabric without being absorbed. This external treatment wears off with use, but can be easily reactivated. To do this, put your jacket in the tumble dryer for ten minutes at a low temperature or use our waterproofing spray (ref. 8938490).
