The Race Face ATLAS handlebar is a popular and respected choice for serious mountain bikers, particularly those involved in All-Mountain, Enduro, and Downhill riding. It is renowned for its strength, durability, and excellent control on technical terrain.
Materials and Construction:
Made from high-quality 7075 aluminum, often cold-drawn and sometimes triple-butted, resulting in exceptional strength while maintaining a low weight. The shot-peened finish enhances fatigue resistance and durability against vibrations and impacts.
Dimensions and Geometry: Clamp Diameter: 31.8 mm Width: 780 mm or 785 mm. Cutting marks are present to allow for adjustment to a more customized width (often up to 770 mm or 750 mm).
Rise: Available in various options, commonly 20 mm or 35 mm, allowing riders to adapt their riding position to their preferences and riding style. Backsweep: Typically 8°, providing a correct and comfortable hand position. Upsweep: 5°, also contributing to comfort and control.
Performance and Benefits: Strength and Durability: Its aircraft-grade aluminum construction makes it extremely resistant to impacts and wear, ideal for intensive and aggressive use.
Enhanced Control: Its wide profile and optimized geometry offer excellent bike handling, especially at high speeds and on technical terrain. Comfort: Despite its stiffness, the Atlas is designed to absorb some trail vibrations, reducing hand and arm fatigue on long descents. Versatility: While often associated with downhill and enduro riding, it's also well-suited to all-mountain and even e-MTBs (e-MTB ready) thanks to its robust construction. Aesthetics: Available in a variety of anodized colors, allowing you to personalize the look of your bike.
