The BR Shepshed bridle is a snaffle bridle in supple Italian leather, finished with off-white contrast stitching. Headpiece and noseband are anatomically shaped and softly padded, with wider padding through the middle of the noseband. It is intended for riders who want a classic, well-groomed look combined with wearing comfort in daily training. Available in Oak/Silver and Black/Silver, in Cob and Full.
About this bridle
The first thing you notice about this bridle is the leather. It is Italian leather that feels supple straight away, so you do not have to wait weeks before the bridle sits nicely in the hand. That suppleness shows most when putting it on and adjusting it: the straps follow easily and the holes slide smoothly over the buckle tongue.
The headpiece is anatomically shaped and softly padded. The weight of bridle and bit therefore rests on a wider surface behind the ears instead of on a narrow strap. That is exactly where a bridle makes the difference during longer sessions, and the reason horses often stay calmer when a padded model is put on.
The noseband has a clean, elegant finish and is padded more widely through the middle. You get a refined line at the sides and still a broader bearing surface across the nasal bone, where the strap makes the most contact. It is a deliberate trade-off between looks and comfort, and it has worked out well here.
The finish sets the tone: off-white contrast stitching on the straps and subtle decorative stitching on the browband and noseband. That gives the bridle a classic, understated elegance without ever becoming showy. Both colour combinations, Oak with silver and black with silver, therefore stay quiet enough for the competition ring.
In use this is a bridle for everyday work, dressage lessons and competition. It is sturdy enough for intensive training weeks and just polished enough to turn out with at a show.
Reins are not included; you choose those separately.
