The SLX is one of Shimano 's most popular baitcasting reels, combining exceptional value with solid performance at a remarkably low price. By ticking all the boxes, in terms of features and performance, it combines the quality and reputation of Shimano, with an unbeatable price. The SLX is the ideal choice if you're just starting out with casting reels. Perhaps you've used casting reels in the past, but now you'd like to try something more compact and lightweight. Or maybe you just want excellent value for money? Whatever your motivation, you can't go wrong with the SLX. It takes many of the tried and trusted features found on top-of-the-range reels from Shimano and packs them into a compact HAGANE body that's easy to handle, even for novice anglers. When it comes to the entry-level segment, there's often a trade-off between quality and price. But the SLX redefines the rules. First of all, it uses a top-of-the-range HAGANE body made of lightweight aluminium, which is important because a solid frame withstands stress better. Casting is managed by Shimano's SVS Infinity spool braking technology, which can be adjusted almost infinitely via an external knob to achieve the exact control required according to your control, preferences and lure size. And to ensure minimum vibration-free casting, the S3D Magnumlite III spool features Silent Tune technology from Shimano's most advanced models. Finally, when you strike your premier fish, you're sure to appreciate the slightly longer crank handle, which offers the power needed to overpower even the toughest fish.
