The Outwell Cloud 5 Poled Tent is built for families or small groups who want something reliable without the faff. It sleeps five, packs down to 63 x 22cm, and weighs 9kg, so it's manageable for car camping and touring trips where you're moving between sites. You can pitch it flysheet-first if the weather's dodgy or as one unit when conditions are calmer. Either way, you're looking at around 14 minutes to get everything sorted. The bedroom gives you proper standing headroom and uses darkened fabric to block early morning light, which makes a real difference if you've got kids or just want a lie-in. There's a sewn-in groundsheet to keep bugs out, and the bathtub design in the living area stops water creeping in during heavy rain.
The front porch is deep enough to stash boots, chairs, or wet gear, and it folds under neatly when you don't need it. You've got access from both ends of the tent, which is handy when you're moving in and out without disturbing everyone inside. The main door uses Outwell's flush-entry system so there's no lip to trip over, and mesh pockets dotted around the inner keep torches, phones, and other bits within reach. Outtex 3000 Select fabric offers a 3000mm hydrostatic head for solid waterproofing, plus UPF 30+ protection and fire retardant treatment meeting current safety standards. Duratec fibreglass poles keep weight down while maintaining strength, and rear vents work with the breathable polyester inner to tackle condensation. It's a straightforward tent that does what it needs to without unnecessary complications, suited to anyone after dependable performance on family camping holidays or short touring breaks.
