Made from lightweight and durable aluminium, the Ortles HMS C.3 M is a large pear-shaped HMS carabiner that can accommodate several knots and/or a half-hitch. Its main feature is the innovative design of its gate. The automatic locking gate with 2 functions allows you to switch modes depending on the situation. This gives you the simplicity and quick handling of a standard HMS carabiner, along with the security and protection of a category three locking carabiner when you need it. Excellent handling: quickly switch from a standard gate to a Safe Lock twist-pull in situations requiring higher safety reserves, with an easily identifiable locking indicator. Designed with a smart gate construction that opens wider to receive or remove knots more easily, further improved by the rounded Keylock nose to avoid snagging. Its design has been optimised by removing redundant materials while maintaining a larger rope contact area for increased durability and smoother belaying.
