MAURTEN GEL 160
MAURTEN is the latest trend in sports nutrition.
Traditionally, energy gels are made from water and carbohydrates blended into syrups, often containing flavourings and preservatives. MAURTEN has found a better way.
By creating the GEL 160, MAURTEN developed an ingenious solution. The GEL 160 consists of a biopolymer matrix filled with a blend of glucose and fructose (0.8:1 ratio). This allows the body to absorb up to 100 g of carbohydrates per hour. The GEL 160 uses hydrogel technology and is made with just six ingredients. It contains no colourings or preservatives. Each 40 g serving provides approximately 25 g of carbohydrates.
When to consume it?
The GEL 160 can be consumed a few minutes before exercise, during activity or immediately afterwards.
Energy content
Recent studies have shown that the body can use up to 90 g of carbohydrates per hour. Scientific research has also demonstrated that a fructose-to-glucose ratio of 0.8:1 can support even higher carbohydrate absorption, reaching up to 100 g per hour. The GEL 100 is formulated using this ratio to provide a high energy intake. Each serving contains approximately 25 g of carbohydrates.
How does it work?
The GEL 160 is based on hydrogel technology. The hydrogel enables carbohydrates to pass smoothly through the stomach into the intestine, where water, salt and carbohydrates are absorbed.
