Pirelli Scorpion XC RC: Born in the World Cup, Ready for the Future of Cross-Country The Scorpion XC RC mountain bike tire is the direct evolution of the tire that dominated Cross-Country competitions in theWorld Cup. Designed for riders seeking speed, precision, and control, it has been updated with increased volume, a squarer tread pattern, a new Race XC compound, and a completely redesigned lightweight yet durable casing. The increased volume improves comfort and stability, especially on technical terrain. The squarer tread pattern ensures optimal cornering grip and more precise handling. The new Race XC compound combines high-performance chemical grip with excellent rolling efficiency for maximum speed. The casing provides effective protection without adding weight to the tire, making it ideal for the demands of racing. Tested at the highest level of global Cross-Country racing and developed with Pirelli's Italian engineering, the Scorpion™ XC RC is ready to push your limits.Race Compound Developed by Pirelli engineers and produced in the Motorsport laboratories, the Race Compound represents the perfect balance between rolling efficiency and control. Tested through countless trials, both in the lab and in the field, and immediately put to use in competition—from the World Cup to the Cape Epic—it is the highest-performing compound in Pirelli's mountain bike lineup. Designed to deliver maximum control and speed across a wide variety of terrains, it ensures a safe and precise ride in all conditions. At the same time, it offers excellent tear resistance, enhancing protection against punctures. Used as a single layer throughout the entire thickness of the tread, without inserts of lower-quality compounds, it maintains consistent performance over time, even as the tire wears down.ProWallThe ProWALL features sidewall protection that improves puncture resistance and low-pressure handling. The sidewall is reinforced with an additional layer of nylon that increases resistance to punctures and cuts while stabilizing the tire at low inflation pressures for confident riding on any type of terrain. The ProWALL is a solid choice for XC racing, trail riding, and enduro. Details: Tubeless Ready. Flexible bead. Structure: ProWALL. Tread compound: Race Compound. TPI: 120. Color: Black/Gold.
