Tom Ritchey rode off-road and far—and designed products for such adventures—decades before anyone thought of calling it "gravel riding" or "bikepacking." His real-life experiences directly inform every product Ritchey makes—like the beloved VentureMax handlebar. With its short reach, shallow drop, and targeted flare, the original VentureMax provides comfort and confidence to legions of handlebar riders looking to settle in and have fun on those dirty drop-bar adventures.
Like its WCS and Comp-level siblings, the new RL1 VentureMax is influenced by those life experiences and inspires riders to chase gravel and other mixed-surface adventures. But the RL1 VentureMax also offers Ritchey's unwavering reliability and practical performance for budget-conscious riders looking for components to upgrade their current bike or complement their next build.
With its rounded temples, short reach, and shallow drop, the RL1 VentureMax offers multiple hand positions to ensure comfort and confidence on any trail. Its wide 24-degree flare at the drop enhances comfort and performance on rough terrain. But it's the shaped bend in the drop that adds yet another practical and welcome design element, regardless of the surface you choose to ride or the length of your adventure.
