Whether you are embarking on a multi-day canoe trip through the wilderness, touring by motorcycle through wind and rain, or need to transport your gear safely and dryly to the water's edge, the Sea to Summit Big River Dry Backpack 50L is your reliable partner. This bag combines the uncompromising waterproofing of a heavy-duty dry bag with the carrying comfort of a fully-featured backpack. While traditional dry bags can be awkward to haul over long distances, this model gives you the freedom to keep your hands free while navigating challenging terrain. It is the perfect solution for adventurers who refuse to settle for wet gear and need a bag that can take a beating.
The harness system is designed to be minimalist yet effective. The backpack features a comfortable harness with EVA foam shoulder straps that contour to your body, a sternum strap for added stability, and a removable waist belt to help distribute the weight. The oval base not only allows for more efficient packing but also prevents the bag from rolling away when placed in a boat or on a slope. On the sides, you will find sturdy daisy chain loops, allowing you to securely lash the bag onto your kayak, motorcycle, or roof rack.
Technically, this backpack is built to perform under harsh conditions. The 420D nylon used is laminated with TPU, providing enormous abrasion resistance and a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm. The seams are double-stitched and fully taped, ensuring water stands no chance of entering. A smart detail is the white coating on the interior; this reflects light, making it easy to find your gear even deep inside the bag. The closure operates via a robust, non-wicking Hypalon roll-top system, hermetically sealing your equipment from the elements.
