The Cardiff Exlead Competition is the most sensitive range of trout fishing rods on the market. Developed by our team of world champion competitors, to tackle all the techniques encountered during trout fishing competitions, this high-end range of fishing rods fully leverages advanced Shimano carbon technology. Also ideal for ultra-light (UL) lure fishing targeting small predators, the Cardiff Exlead Competition series is a masterpiece of lightness. The Cardiff EXLEAD Competition rods are designed for competition trout anglers who appreciate the subtle details that make the difference. Despite its undeniable sensitivity and lightness, it casts lures with great precision thanks to the blend of advanced Shimano carbon technologies, allowing you to better target spots. The ultra-light blanks of the Cardiff EXLEAD Competition are made with Spiral X Core technology and Nanopitch technology. These advanced carbon technologies combine to reduce rotational twist when the rod is compressed during casting or when retrieving the lure, resulting in greater precision and a soft action during the fight. The 60SULS model features a solid Taftec Infinity tip that allows for better feel and even animating the lightest micro spoons. As you would expect from such a high-end rod, the ring train is equally impressive, featuring a combination of lightweight titanium Shimano X-Guide rings and Fuji SiC Titanium type K, an exclusive ultra-light ergonomic Shimano Ci4+ reel seat, and a Carbon Monocoque handle for maximum sensitivity and feedback. Each model is designed for a specific application, lure, and type of competition. Whether you’re fishing with small spoons close to the bottom, jerkbaits, on the surface, or with crankbaits, the Cardiff Exlead Competition series includes a rod specially designed for each technique by our world champion trout fishing team.
