The tendons of horses are extremely fragile and prone to injuries. However, tendon protectors often become too warm or are too tight. We know how important it is for the fit to be protective while remaining comfortable for the horse. Check out our XO2 Boot developed in-house! An innovative design, backed by thorough research on the anatomy of the horse's leg and made using a unique mould developed by BR. The result is an essential tendon protector that provides the best protection, absorbs shocks, and keeps the horse's leg as cool as possible. Function dictates form ( form follows function ) Based on the principle that 'function dictates form,' the XO2 tendon protector offers your horse perfect protection without compromising comfort. The protector fits the horse's leg perfectly and covers only where necessary. The shell is slightly thicker at the back and on the sides of the fetlock to best protect the horse's leg in these important areas. Exterior: The unique feature of the shell is its anatomical shape that adapts to the horse's leg, perfectly following its contours. The unique shape of the shell provides protection where needed, but it is also lighter than other tendon protectors: up to 10% lighter! This ensures your horse maintains perfect freedom of movement and is never hindered by the tendon protectors. The shell is hard for good protection, but at the same time extremely flexible to fit the shape of the horse's leg. Well-placed ventilation holes ensure that the tendon does not overheat. Lining: The protector is lined with our specially developed Air Liner, a thermoformed lining made from a material that gives it optimal properties. The lining absorbs shocks even more effectively, thanks to the air present in the spaces created by the material, due to its composition. In the event of an impact or shock, the air escapes through the extremely breathable lining and through the ventilation holes, so your horse is perfectly protected against impacts. Fastenings: It is also very important for tendon protectors to be equipped with suitable fastenings. Indeed, if the tendon protector is too loose, it can cause irritation, but if it is too tight, it can hinder blood circulation. The fastening straps are slightly elastic and feature a Velcro system, so the tendon protector can always be placed in the right spot and secured properly. With the rounded shape of the shell, they have a sleek appearance and fit the horse's leg perfectly.
